>>GOODYEAR TIRE RAFFLE PROGRAM CONCLUDES<<

Back in June of last year, Goodyear joined the group of SoCal/SoNev Caravan Section Sponsors. The last great American tire company, Goodyear, has been supporter of the Corvette hobby since the late 1970s and was a sponsor of the SoCal Caravan in 2003.

For the '09 event, Goodyear's support was the donation of half-a-dozen sets of tires which we could "raffle" with proceeds going to the SoCal/SoNev Organizing Team to use on Caravan Section operating expenses. Each raffle winner had the opportunity to buy a set of four Goodyears to fit a Corvette or any other car or light truck for $750.00.

We ran six of these and the Goodyear Tire Raffle Program's final winners were Rick and Lynn Miller who own a virtual fleet of Convertibles...'73, '88, '00 and '06 and went on the 1999 Caravan. The Millers belong to Corvette Super Sports and live in the O.C. Congratulations to Rick and Lynn, our final Goodyear Raffle winners.

The other raffle winners were:
1) Chuck Niemann
2) Paul Benthuys
3) Jim Holland
4) Charlie and Gerri McManis
5) Don Slauson

The SoCal/SoNev Caravan Organizing Team thanks all the Caravaners who entered our Goodyear Raffles.

>>SoCal/SoNev REGISTRATIONS STILL GROWING<<

Sherry Maples, the SoCal/SoNev Organizing Team's "numbers expert" tells the eNews that, as of 27 May has reached 220 cars and 400 Caravaners. Caravan Section Captain, Hib Halverson's original goal for the 2009 Caravan was 250 cars leaving Fontana on 29 August.

Going on the Caravan?
Don't go braless!

Even new cars with less than 1,000 miles have paint blemishes from normal driving. Imagine what a cross-country trip will do to YOUR paint.

The solution? A "Clear Bra".

It functions like a traditional auto bra but is far more durable and cannot be seen. It will NOT scratch your Corvette's finish like most "strap-on" auto bras. This 3M Paint and Headlight Protection lasts for the life of your Vette. SCSN Capt. Hib Halverson used a 3M Clear Bra on the 2003 National Corvette Caravan and endorses it as the best way to avoid damage to the front of your car.
