Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota & Central Canada

Welcome to the Minnesota, North and South Dakota and Central Canada Caravan Homepage

All roads will lead to Bowling Green for the National Corvette Museum's 20th Anniversary Celebration from August 28 to 30, 2014. We invite you along to join the fun, excitement and experience to be part of one of the largest moving car event.

The registration for the 20th Anniversary event is opened. You can find a link below the map (where you linked in to get to this site) to register for the 2014 caravan. Make sure you indicate our caravan in your registration. I will be able to contact you with further information about the caravan as we get closer to the anniversary.

The driver needs to register and include the co-pilot. The cost is $5.00 each for the caravan plus $0 for Lifetime member, $15.00 for Member and $25.00 for Non-member. This will be paid at the time of registration. Also any seminars, dinners, road tours are extra. Plant tours will be open by then. The registration will list every event and their cost. Also let me know if you are interested in a flag or a static cling for your window.

I'm pleased to have Owen Michelson ( OlMichelson@cableone.net ) back as the Co-Captain in charge of the North Dakota portion of the caravan. He was a key contributor in the success of the 2009 caravan. The Central Canada enthusiasts should consider meeting the North Dakota Caravan to travel to Minneapolis. The North Dakota and Central Canada caravan will meet at Gateway Chevrolet in Fargo, ND to launch the caravan to Minneapolis on Monday, 25 August, 2014. As we get closer to the caravan, more information about this segment of the caravan will become available.

I'm pleased to introduce Clair Steiner ( oldsailors@aol.com ) who has agreed to be the Local Leader for the South Dakota portion of the caravan. The South Dakota caravan will initiate from Billion Chevrolet, Sioux Falls, SD on Tuesday 26 August 2014. As we get closer to the caravan, more information about this segment of the caravan will become available.

The Minnesota, North Dakota, Central Canada and whoever else that may join our caravan will meet at (TBD) on 26 August 2014. We have finalized our 2014 caravan route which will go south through Iowa, Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky. Our previous caravans have gone across Wisconsin, Illinois and Kentucky, so this is a new route.

First Day:
The caravan will travel down Interstates 494 to 35 and exit at Mason City Iowa on US18E to 27/380 to Waterloo where we will stop for lunch at Rydell Chevrolet. We will continue down Highway 380/6/I70 into St. Louis. Our stop for the night is at the La Quinta on Lackland Road in St. Louis. There is a second hotel available if needed. I will provide information to all registrants to reserve a room.

The North Dakota and Central Canada caravans will meet in Minneapolis on 25 of August (Monday) and along with the Minnesota group will leave Tuesday morning the 26th. Preliminary plans have the South Dakota caravan meeting the main caravan in Albert Lea, MN (I90/I35) on the 26th.

Second Day:
The caravan will leave at 8:00 a.m. from the hotel(s) in St. Louis and stop at a "Rest Stop" at mile post 27 on I70 in Illinois to regroup. We will continue on I70 to Effingham IL. (Mid America) and have lunch. We will make our way down to Evansville Ky. and may stop at a Chevrolet dealer there for an afternoon break. Our next stop is Bowling Green, which our plan is to arrive at the NCM on Wednesday the 27th at about 5:00 PM. I currently have a block of rooms in Bowling Green and I'm working on other hotels.

A handbook will be generated that contains our routes, stops, hotels etc prior to August 2014. I will email this handbook out to all caravanners.

If you would like to volunteer with the Caravan or be a sponsor of the Minnesota/Dakota's and Central Canada Caravan, please let us know. If you have any comments or questions please contact me.

Respectfully,

Paul Christopher
2014 MN/Dakotas and Central Canada
