Minnesota, North Dakota & South Dakota
Welcome to the Minnesota, North and South Dakota Caravan home page.
As noted in my email to our caravan, the packets from the NCM will be sent to me and I will hand
them out when we leave Grossman or at Vander Meer. It will contain the hardcard (which is personalized
and shows that a participant has registered for Caravan), the 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 participant decal for the
window and a letter of instructions. You must have the hardcard to participate in all NCM activities
and to pick up their dash plaque and T-shirt upon arrival in Bowling Green. The handbook and other
information will be in the packet as well.
Our caravan will include enthusiasts from Minnesota, North and South Dakota. The North Dakota
caravan will be lead by Local Leader Owen Michelson from Fargo (email
omichelson@i29.net). On 31 August, the North Dakota caravan
will leave from Gateway Chevrolet (just
north of junction I29 and I94) in Fargo (departure is 11:00 AM) and travel down interstate 94 to
Burnsville. The Local Leader for South Dakota is Wayne Hart from Sioux Falls (email
waynesue@alliancecom.net). The South Dakota caravan will
leave Sioux Falls from Billion Chevrolet
(4200 West 12th Street, which is right on the east side of the intersection of I-29 South and 12th
Street) on August 31st at 12:00 p.m. and travel interstate 90 to Tomah Wisconsin. Dakota caravanners,
please contact Owen and Wayne if you have any questions.
On the night of the 31st, Minnesota and North Dakota caravanners will meet at Grossman Chevrolet in
Burnsville to introduce and meet everyone (time estimated 7:00 PM). The morning of the 1st, we will
have breakfast at Grossman Chevrolet and depart for our trip to Bowling Green at 8:00 AM. The caravan
will travel on Interstate I94. We will stop at
VanderMeer Chevrolet in Tomah
Wisconsin for refreshments (arrival time is 11:00). The South Dakota group will meet us there as well
as our western Wisconsin Corvette friends. We will meet up with the Wisconsin upper Michigan caravan at
Bud Weiser Cadillac Chevrolet in Beloit,
WI later that day. The combined Caravans will travel together to Bloomington Illinois where we will
stay for the night.
We will depart from these hotels Wed at 8 AM with the Wisconsin upper Michigan and Illinois/Iowa
caravan. The second day will include a lunch and gas stop at the Marion/Carbondale exit on I57. There
is a good selection of gas stations and restaurants at this exit. We will use the Illinois Centre Mall
for staging. The combined Caravans will depart the mall around 1:30 PM and travel on to Bowling Green,
KY, arriving around 5-6 PM Wednesday. The Museum is staying open late Wednesday so there will be
enthusiasts there to greet us as we arrive at the Museum.
Respectfully,
Paul Christopher
Minnesota, North Dakota & South Dakota Captain
