Montana & Wyoming

GREETINGS and HAPPY NEW YEAR Wyoming and Montana Corvette enthusiasts.

Hello, my name is Dale Hess. I will be your "Rookie" Captain for the Wyoming and Montana Corvette Caravan for 2009. I participated in the Corvette Museum Grand Opening in 1994 and was a participant in the 50th Anniversary Caravan in 2003. I have attended numerous car events, in my life of being a car and Corvette nut, and the trips and Caravans to the Corvette Museum and GM Corvette Plant stand are the most outstanding events that I have ever attended. Every Corvette enthusiast should attend this event as it truly will be the experience of a lifetime. I can hardly wait to get going on the Caravan and see the Corvette Museum with all the new expansions as it will be a Show Piece for all Corvette enthusiasts to be proud of and enjoy.

Our drive will take 3 or 4 days, depending on where you join the Caravan, so that we can stop and see the Speedway Motors Museum located in Lincoln, Nebraska and the Mid America Motor Works facilities located in Effingham, Illinois. We anticipate arriving in Bowling Green, Kentucky in the early afternoon on Thursday, September 3, 2009.

Day 1, Monday, August 31, 2009, will be the first day of the Caravan with participants in Montana, northern Wyoming, and western Wyoming traveling to Cheyenne, Wyoming to meet up with the rest of the Caravan. If you need help getting a room reservation for your overnight stay in Cheyenne, Wyoming, please let me know and I will help you out.

Day 2, Tuesday, September 1, 2009, the Caravan will leave Little America Resort in Cheyenne, Wyoming and travel the I-80 corridor to Kearney, Nebraska where we will stop for lunch. We will then proceed on I-80 to Lincoln, Nebraska where we will stop to tour the Museum at Speedway Motors. We will then proceed to I-29 and on to St. Joseph, Missouri where we will spend the night.

Day 3, Wednesday, September 2, 2009, the Caravan will leave St Joseph, Missouri and travel south on I-29 to Kansas City, Missouri. In Kansas City Missouri, we will join up with the Caravans from the Pacific Northwest, Northern California - Nevada - Utah, Colorado, and possibly some other Caravans. We will then travel the I-70 corridor to St. Louis, Missouri where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we will follow the I-70 corridor to Effingham, Illinois where we will visit the Midwest Motor Works facilities and spend the night.

Day 4, Thursday, September 3, 2009, the Caravan will leave Effingham, Illinois and travel to Henderson or Owensboro, Kentucky where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we will travel on to the William H. Natcher Parkway, which is a very scenic drive, into Bowling Green and the National Corvette Museum. We plan for an early afternoon arrival.

The schedule of events to take place at the National Corvette Museum 15th Anniversary is not available at this time. As soon as it is available it will be posted on the corvettecaravan.com web site and will have a listing of the events, pricing, and other information about this great event. Please watch the above web site for this information and remember to register for this event, as it is a separate event from the Corvette Caravan. Please remember to support the Corvette National Museum and it's building campaign The more we all help, the greater it will be for all of us and future generations to enjoy.

This is our tentative schedule for the Corvette Caravan and it can be amended or changed if necessary to better meet the needs of all the participants. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or ideas, please let me know. This is YOUR CORVETTE CARAVAN and I want it to be the best it can be for all the participants.

Sincerely,

Dale Hess
Captain
