Welcome:
Welcome to the 2014 Gulf States Caravan. My name is Glenn Johnson. My wife, Andrea, and I live in Port Neches, Texas and are thrilled that we have been asked to serve as
Captains of the 2014 Gulf States Region Caravan. We look forward to working with each and every Corvette Club and Corvette enthusiast in Southeast Texas, Louisiana,
Mississippi, Alabama and the Northwest Florida Panhandle.
Registration:
Registration for the NCM 20th Anniversary Celebration and the 2014 National Corvette Caravan is not open at this time, but is expected to go live sometime in
late 2012.
Gulf States Caravan Information:
- Because of the size of our Gulf States Region, there will be several caravans traveling from all areas, of the Gulf States Region, to the 2014 Gulf States Region
Headquarters.
- All caravans will arrive, at the Gulf States Region Headquarters, on Monday, August 25, 2014.
- You do not have to travel with the area caravans, but it does make the overall experience more exciting.
Area Caravans to the Gulf States Region Headquarters:
Southern Area Caravan
(Houston, TX via New Orleans, LA & Dothan, AL to Birmingham, AL)
- Saturday, August 23, the Southern Area Caravan will leave Houston, TX and travel Interstate-10 to New Orleans, LA where it will stay overnight.
- Stops will be made in Beaumont, Lake Charles, Lafayette and Baton Rouge to allow participants to join the caravan.
- Overnight in New Orleans, LA
- Everyone is welcome to join us in New Orleans, LA.
- Hotel and Registration details are being developed and will be posted.
- Sunday, August 24, the Southern Area Caravan will resume and follow Interstate-10 to Hwy 231 and turn north to Dothan, AL where it will stay overnight.
- Stops will be made in Slidell, Gulfport, Mobile and Pensacola to allow participants to join the caravan.
- Overnight in Dothan, AL.
- Everyone is welcome to join us in Dothan, AL.
- Hotel and Registration details are being developed and will be posted.
- Monday, August 25, the Southern Area Caravan will travel from Dothan, AL, to the Gulf States Region Headquarters, in Birmingham, AL.
Central Mississippi Area Caravan
(Jackson, MS to Birmingham, AL)
- Monday, August 25, the Central Mississippi Area Caravan will leave Jackson, MS and travel Interstate-20 to Birmingham, AL.
- Stops will be made in Meridian, MS and Tuscaloosa, AL to allow participants to join the caravan.
Note:
- We need Area Caravans in Northern Louisiana and Northern Alabama to travel to the Gulf States Regional Headquarters.
- If you are planning an Area Caravan, to the Gulf States Region Headquarters, from your specific area of the Gulf States Region, please share the details with us so
that the specifics can be posted on this website.
2014 Gulf States Region Headquarters Information:
Team Corvette of Birmingham has agreed to be the host club and we thank them in advance. Headquarter hotel arrangements and
specific details of various activities are being developed and will be shared as soon as they are finalized.

Monday, August 25, 2014
- Gulf States Region caravans & individual participants begin to arrive.
- Registration (Pick up participant packets) will be open from 1-5 pm.
- Participant Activities are still being determined.
Tuesday, August 26, 2014
- Individual participants continue to arrive.
- Registration continues from 9-12 noon and from 1-5 pm.
- Participant Activities are still being determined.
- Following the day's activities, a dinner/social will be held.
- No charge to Gulf States Region registered participants.
- If you are not coming on the Gulf States Region Corvette Caravan and only joining us for the day's activities, there is a $15 per person charge to stay for the
dinner and social.
Wednesday, August 27, 2014
- 2014 Gulf States Region Caravan:
The Gulf States Caravan will travel, as one caravan, from the Gulf States Region Headquarters to the National Corvette Museum, Bowling Green, KY.
The 2014 Gulf States Region Caravan Route:
- Leave Birmingham, AL and travel Interstate 65.
- Rest Stop - Decatur, AL area.
- Lunch Stop - Nashville, TN.
- Leave Nashville and continue to travel Interstate 65 to the Kentucky State Line.
- Exit into the Kentucky Welcome Center, rest stop and stage for our arrival at the NCM.
- We will then be escorted to the National Corvette Museum for our arrival parade.
NCM 20th Annual Anniversary Celebration
- Thursday, August 28 thru Saturday, August 30 2014.
Gulf States Region Route Book
- We are putting together a Gulf States Region Route Book.
- We are selling ads, in our route book.
- For more information, please contact your Regional Leader, the Gulf States Region Captain or the Route Book Editor/Publisher.
- The Gulf States Region Rount Book will be distributed approximately three months before our caravan begins.
Volunteer Information:
- We need Local Leaders
- Local Leaders are needed from every Corvette Club in the Gulf States Region
- Local Leaders will simply find a location and a time where everyone, in their city or area, can meet and join the caravan.
- We need you to volunteer to be a Local Leader, please contact the GS Captain at gjohnson@gt.rr.com or your state
regional leader
