Wisconsin & Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan

The 2009 Caravan is over except for all the great memories and new friends that were made along the way.

For the WI/UP Caravan we must give our heartfelt thanks to:

Jorns Chevrolet Pontiac

Peter Beane and his team gave us a great kickoff with hot coffee, cold OJ and lots of doughnuts. It was a great starting location and the dealership hospitality was tops. Thanks Pete!

EVS Chevrolet

Rick Conti, Eric von Schledorn and their team blew the Caravan away with a fantastic Italian lunch. Rick has posted some stuff on the stop at:

Everyone is still talking about the hospitality extended at EVS. Thanks Rick and Eric!

A side note on the stop is that we learned about our oldest Caravan participant, a spry 83 year old California gent and his wife who flew in for the event. Questioned on his age though he qualified and said he was "really only 38, though he was dyslectic". He was aged out as oldest participant in the Caravans by a 91 year old over in Indiana.

Bud Weiser Cadillac Chevrolet

Scott Weiser, a third generation GM dealer I learned, and his team provided the spot where Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Wisconsin, Michigan Upper Peninsula and some Illinois folks merged. They had their Chamber of Commerce there doing a free raffle for Brewers tickets and thankfully a large supply of cold drinks for the Caravan. Thanks again Scott!

We are blessed to have three such great Chevrolet/Corvette dealers in Wisconsin and I encourage everyone to give these dealers a shot at your business the next time you are shopping for a new or used car or truck.

We have a person who took a lot of video on the trip and is going to make a DVD from it. I will add a link to that when it is available.

If anyone has any pictures or video you want to share with the group, send me the a copy or link and I will get it on this page and send a note over Caravan Chat.

Mary, Fred, Ed and I had a great time leading this Caravan and hope everyone had as much fun on the trip down and at the Museum as we did.

Ivan Schrodt
Wisconsin/UP Captain
