Have you registered for the 2019 caravan? Official NCM Dates: August 28 – September 1, 2019: Join us and your fellow Corvette Enthusiasts as we head to Bowling Green, KY for the 25th Anniversary of the National Corvette Museum. This will be a milestone event in the National Corvette Museum’s history. FYI: our caravan activities will start on Monday, August 26.

What you need to know:
Our Caravan is filling up quickly. For planning purposes, we are asking that you register for the caravan no later than May 15, to ensure you will have lodging in Bowling Green and that we count you in our numbers for T-shirts, meals, etc. Please note, that the first 300 registered cars will receive a custom tote – we are fast approaching that number. After that date, there will be no refunds. Make sure to get your registrations in.

Caravan Updates:
Registration for the Museum is now closed. You will be able to register on site during the Caravan Events at a higher fee. The Pre-registration for our Caravan is also closed. If you are still interested in joining, call Frank at 919-604-6978.

Let the wave begin from Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina to Concord, North Carolina and then to Bowling Green, Kentucky. This route runs I-64 E to I-664 N onto US-13/US-58/US-460 traveling US-58 W to South Hill Virginia then I-85 S thru Durham, Greenville and onto Hampton Inn in Concord, North Carolina. Be sure to have your FRS/GMRS two-way radio (if you have one),

Caravan to Concord, NC – August 25, 2019
1. Meet at Sport Chevrolet (Silver Spring, MD) at 8 am on August 25th and depart no later than 8:30 am

2. I-95 South to I-85 South in Petersburg, Va and arrive in South Hill, VA at Applebee’s at 12 noon for lunch and gas. Take exit 12A off I-85. Applebee’s is on the left about 1/4 mile. (3hrs 45 min approx). Depart between 1 – 1:30 pm.

3. I-85 South to Concord, NC at Hampton Inn, 9850 Weddington Rd. Extension. Exit 49 off I-85. (approx 3 hrs) arriving 4:30 – 5 pm.

1. Caravan Route:
From Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet in Newton, NC, the Caravan Route will follow I-40 W, to I-75 N, to Kentucky 80 W, to I-65S. I65S will take us right to our hotels in Bowling Green.

2. There are two separate registrations:

  • First, register with the Museum for their events: Registration opens September 12 at 9am central time. Click link to learn more about the caravan and to register with the museum.
    1. Cost: lifetime members: $30 per person
    2. Member: $40 per person
    3. Non-member: $65 per person
    4. Add $5 for onsite registration
    5. When signing up for the NCM National Corvette Caravan, you will be asked to select a “Regional Caravan.” If you plan to participate with us, please select our Carolinas & Virginia Corvette Caravan. If you are NOT riding with a Caravan, but wish to participate in our pre-Caravan activities, select our Caravan as well. This will put you on our Regional Caravan list, so we know how many folks to prepare for.
    6. New this caravan: your museum credentials will be sent directly to the Captain of your caravan to hand out at registration. No more long lines at the NCM. If you order a museum event t-shirt, you will need to pick that up at museum.
  • Second, register with the (Carolinas & Virginia Corvette Caravan) North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, W. Virginia, Maryland & Delaware.

  • Parking at the National Corvette Museum: Worried about parking at the NCM? There is RESERVED PARKING now available at the NCM. This assures you of a space in Lot A each and every time you are at the NCM. Reserved spots are a $500 donation to the museum. To reserve your spot, contact Connie Russell at 270-467-8815 or The other spots at museum are first come, first serve. Shuttles will be available from other parking areas around the museum from your car to museum and back.
  • HOTEL RESERVATION Information: We will do our best to accommodate hotel requests but there are no guarantees. It is important to get your registrations in ASAP so you can make your hotel reservations in Bowling Green.
  • When hotel reservations are being made, there are no other discounts available.

2019 Carolinas & Virginia Caravan Calendar

Our 2019 road trip begins at the Host Hotel in Concord NC – The Hampton Inn, I-85 at Exit 49, 9850 Weddington Rd., Concord, NC 28027.

  • Sunday, August 25, 2019: We will start the fun with a Meet & Greet event and Caravan Registration Check-in at the host hotel. Hotel Reservation Information listed below. Dinner on your own at one of the many great local restaurants.
  • Monday, August 26, 2019: Caravan Registration Check-in continues. Interested participants will be able to run track laps on the Charlotte Motor Speedway track – between 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. There will be a separate charge for this activity. Additional track information and the process for enrollment will be communicated as we get closer to the event. An evening meal will be provided at the host hotel, starting at 6:30pm, for registered caravan participants.
  • Tuesday, August 27, 2019: The C&VA Caravan Route begins with participants meeting at 9:00am for breakfast, served at and hosted by our sponsor, Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet in Newton, NC, and the caravan will depart from there. More information (directions, etc.) will be provided to participants.
    • Lunch: The caravan will stop at the famous Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC for lunch at the Deer Park Restaurant. Fee included in registration fee.
    • We will depart Biltmore at approximately 2:00pm for our destination that day, which will be the host hotel, Hampton Inn & Suites Sevierville at 105 Stadium Drive, Kodak, TN. Final Caravan Registration Check-in will be available, and pizza, drinks and an ice cream social will be served to round out our day.

    Please note: Those who are not starting in Concord but plan to join the Caravan in Sevierville/Kodak, TN on Tuesday evening –please plan to join us for the festivities at the Hampton Inn & Suites Sevierville and pick up your caravan registration packet. More detailed info will be available later.

  • Wednesday, August 28, 2019:
    • BY 10:00am – Meet at the Smoky Mountain Stadium parking lot, directly adjacent to the Hampton Inn.
    • Lunch: We’ll be stopping in Columbia, KY for food, fuel and restroom break before we make the final run into Bowling Green.
    • The Caravan Route will follow I-40 W, to I-75 N, to Kentucky 80 W, to I-65S and proceed to hotels in Bowling Green.
