Hello all, welcome the to New England Caravan home page!
I'm Charlie Oliveri (Charlie "O") Co-Captain for the NE Caravan, and a long time
Vette Nut. My roots go back to the early 60's. My first Vette was a 59' Fuelie 283 - 290 HP 4
speed, all white, even the cove, and a black interior.
I have also been the 1994 NE # 5 Caravan Leader, 1999 Local Leader and the 2003 50th
Anniversary MA Leader. I am a Founding Member of the NCM #1727.
My roots also extend to the early days (1960's) in the North Shore Corvettes of MA (NSCM). I
am a past president of NSCM and Ambassador to the NCM from NSCM.
Since that time I have owned 63 Split Window, 71 "T" Top, 77 "T" Top, 68
Roadster, 64 Roadster 327/365HP, 93 Coupe, 2000 Convertible and now a 2004 Convertible "Le
mans Special Edition" 6 speed. And I still love them all!
Paul Harrington, also a founding member, will be Co-Captain with me. He is a veteran
caravaneer having participated in all previous caravans and Co-Captaining the 2003 50th
Anniversary Caravan. All his trips have been in his '63 roadster with his somewhat famous
"main squeeze" Cara Vanning.
Our NE 2009 Caravan route is 90 % complete. Our route is complete, with our gasoline and pit stops
remaining to be completed.
We will have three Kick Off/Starting locations:
Loudon NH & Danvers MA will meet in Danbury CT. MA & NH should gather in Danbury by
11:00 to 11:30AM. Danbury CT will be our 3rd location and a gathering point for NH & MA. E. New
York may want to go directly to Harrisburg rather than go southeast.
Overnight 8/30/09 in Harrisburg PA (Sheraton & Holiday Inn
Mon 8/31 & Tues 9/1 at the Belterra Resort & casino. Tuesday, will see us tentatively,
at the KY Speed Way (all Day) and a Banquet Meal & 50-60 Dance in the Belterra Ballroom.
Wed 9/3 we head to BG at 9:00AM with arrival in BG around 2-3PM.
